ALPINE COMBINED DH IN BORMIO – PARIS FIRST PLACE, FILL IS THIRD

Dominik Paris continues his domination on the Stelvio in Bormio. After dominating in yesterday’s World Cup DH race ahead of Svindal and Jansrud, the “Azzurro” is still the fastest in the Alpine Combined DH. It was much colder, the snow was therefore more icy and fast. The start was lowered to Canalino Sertorelli (about 10 seconds less than yesterday) and Dominik finished his race in 1’48 “71.

He is ahead of the Olympic champion, the Austrian Matthias Mayer (+21/100) and of Peter Fill (+50/100). Peter finally skied just like he knows, after yesterday’s opaque race. It’s a good sign for the entire “Azzurri” speed team, but Christof Innerhofer still has to regain confidence: he had an eleventh place (+1 “22). Fourth place for the other Austrian, Vincent Kriechmayr (+52/100), ahead of the German Thomas Dressen (+62/100).

The favorite racer for the Alpine Combined, the French Alexis Pinturalt, got an18th place (+1 “65 from Paris) while the Norwegian Jansrud got a 7th place (+97/100). Paris and Fill still can be on the podium after the slalom. Emanuele Buzzi is in the first 30 racers too, he’s 23rd (+1 “79).

Of course Paris is satisfied: “This result gives me confidence. I needed to be a bit advantaged thinking of the slalomists because I trained little in that speciality. I need more courage in slalom than DH. Celebrations after the DH success? Very little, just a beer with friends. I will celebrate on New Year’s Eve … ”

The slalom starts at 3pm with first DH 30 racers starting on reverse order, followed by the others who finished the first race.
