News on Bormio from the blogs of the athletes!

Only three days to the men’s downhill in Bormio, the race that takes place every year on December 29 in Bormio, on the Stelvio slope.

The Christmas wishes that have filled the blogs and social networks of the athletes are now beginning to give space to hopes and thoughts about one of the most difficult and tiring races of the FIS circuit.

Peter Fill, the athlete from South Tyrol, says that the Stelvio slope is “one of the best and most difficult slopes of the World Cup circuit” and asks all his fans on Facebook to keep their fingers crossed during the last race of the year.

Christof Innerhofen, explains on his blog that Bormio is one of the races he likes the most, and that he counts on being in the Top 10 in Bormio. He has more confidence in himself and in his skills too, and feels that his physical problems after the fall of November 3 are disappearing. He promises to his fans: “Now you’re going to see the real Inner again!”. (credits: www.christof-innerhofer.com)

First time in Bormio for Beat Feuz means red bib, and the possibility to confirm the excellent physical form that allowed the  current leader of the downhill World Cup to get a first place in the Super-G in Val Gardena, a third place in the super-G and a second place in the downhill, both in Beaver Creek. Aksel Lund Svindal writes on his blog that Stelvio is “a brutal downhill to wake you up from the Christmas break”. During the 2005 World Ski Championship, Svindal got a silver medal in the combined. We’ll wait to watch his performance this year! (credits: www.aksellundsvindal.com)

The mother of David Poisson (she writes on his blog) writes about the race in Bormio too. Stelvio is an important track for David, who obtained a “très bon résultat” (a very good result) with a fifth place two years ago. (credits: www.davidpoisson.com/blog/)
