Snow and security ok on the Stelvio slope

Finishing touches on the Stelvio slope awaiting the downhill race on December 29th. “Even before the rain on December 24th we crossed out the Carcentina and the start until to la Rocca” said Tino Pietrogiovanna, race director. “Therefore yesterday and today, after the rain, we went over the slope from the top to the bottom with the machines. From the highest part, until down to the “canalino Sertorelli”, we pulled away a bit of snow, instead the part below was milled.”

The result? “Hard and a little wavy snow, very nice” continues Pietrogiovanna. “Especially in the final stretch the track will be fast, technical and exciting. Like two years ago.”

Regarding security, expresses himself with satisfaction the engineer Pasquale Canclini, head of the SIB – Società Impianti Bormio: We have ensured the maximum of guarantees. The weather is indeed on our side: both for the timed trainings and for the race optimum visibility is expected and even the wind should not give any worries.”
