Description of the Hike:
First Route
Starting the hike at the Ristoro (1.962 m) you follow the road into the direction of S. Giacomo di Fraele. Past the bridge over the little river Val Pettini you leave the main road, taking a left into a little road which leads into the direction of Val Pettini. Shortly after that, you reach another bifurcation. Leaving now the main road to the Val Pettini, you turn right to the north and reach thus the Valle Alpisella, passing before the lodges Le Stalle (2.001 m), Baite Tea (1.976 m) and Casal (2.100 m). Then you get to the road which leads up to this point and which brings you to a plateau at an altitude of 2.235 metres, where there are alpine lakes, which are the springs of the river Adda. Shortly after this place, you reach the Passo di Valle Alpisella at a level of 2.267 m.
Second Route
The Trela-Passes:
Starting at the Ristoro S. Giacomo di Fraele follow first of all the same route as described before. But then take the little path, which leads, on the left side of the little river, up to the Val Pettini. Pass the first as well as the second bifurcation to the right, which leads to the Val Lunga, walking straight on. Ongoing, hiking south into the direction of the Val Corta and following into the Val Pettini, walk up to the green plateau of the Baite di Trela. (2.170 m, duration 1,15 min.). From here, you walk into south-east direction to the Bocchette di Trela (2.349 m), passing the limestone faces of the Cima Doscopa (2.794 m).
Now the downhill to the south begins, crossing fields until the Alp Case Vezzola (2.200 m) and the plateau of the same name. Take a right, direction north-west into the Val Vezzola until you reach another beautiful, green plateau, from where you turn right again and hike straight on to ther Bocchetta Trelina (2.283 m). The path stays at the same altitude for a while and leads, describing a circle, from norh-east to north-west, around the north-eastern foothills of the Punta del Lago Nero (2.676 m), until you finally reach the Val Trela. If you walk on on the righthand side, you reach the little river and you get to the path coming up from the Baite di Trela. If you follow on taking a left (west-north-west) you will reach the Passo di Trela (2.295 m) quite soon.
From there, take the marked path on the left side of the Trela Valley. After about a kilometre, take a left down to the Bocchetta di Val Lunga (2.335 m), from where the path leads down along th valley, where you will get bach to the path which you chose before to ascend into the Val Pettini.
