About us

B.E.S.T. – Bormio Eventi Sport & Turismo has been organizing sports and tourism events in Bormio and Alta Valtellina for over 20 years.

At the moment it is responsible for the organization of the Men’s Downhill in Bormio, the famous FIS World Cup race taking place every year between Christmas and the New Year’s Day on the Stelvio track. It is one of the most eagerly awaited races of the entire ski season; the ski racers themselves usually say that ” Stelvio is one of the most technical and difficult tracks,” the competition is very high, but the victory repays all efforts.

In the past, B.E.S.T. organized and coordinated the Snow Festival 2000 and the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2005, a very successful event that involved Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and more than 2000 people (members of the Organizing Committee and volunteers) who thought, organized , managed and supported this international project with passion.

Furthermore, Valtellina has been hosting the Valtellina Basket Circuit for more than 30 years. The event is a basketball tournament involving teams in Euroleague and Serie A. It is one of the summer’s most eagerly awaited sports event in Bormio because it involves Italian and international teams that keep choosing Bormio thanks to adequate hotels too. Montepaschi Siena, Olimpia Milano, Pallacanestro Cantù, the Turkish teams Efes Pilsen and Fenerbahce, the Russian teams Dynamo Moscow and Khimky and Maccabi Telaviv from Israel are among the regular teams coming to Bormio. They usually play preseason basketball games, they train and perform tests on players, especially on new ones. Michael Jordan, the most famous of the many great athletes who have been playing in Bormio so far, was the star of the circuit on two occasions (1985 and 1990.)

B.E.S.T. organizes national and international conferences and cultural events too, such as the Forum giuridico europeo della neve. The event has been taking place in Bormio since 2005 and features the participation of prominent European lawyers and experts discussing snow law and comparing experiences.
